# AI Charades: act it, let the AI guess it

AI Charades is a concept activation, built per occasion: a participant is handed a secret word, acts it out silently on a camera, and a vision model's ranked guesses update every few seconds on a big screen. The quicker the correct guess, the more points. The games library has the full rules.

## The idea

The AI is the opponent in the audience's eyes: the crowd watches the guess list change as the performer moves, then cheers when the right word reaches the top. It turns a familiar party game into a stage moment with a clear score, and the best replay can go to the event wall.

## How it runs on event day

Attendee

Takes a card on a phone or kiosk, agrees to the camera notice, sees a secret word, acts for the round timer and sees nothing of the guesses until the screen reveals them.

Operator

Loads the word list per theme, sets round length and camera, starts each round, can mark a guess correct by hand, and approves any replay before it reaches the wall.

LED or venue screen

Ranked guesses with a confidence bar, the countdown, the performer's name and team, and a leaderboard strip. The performer's camera feed is shown only if the operator turns it on.

## Inputs and outputs

### Inputs

- Secret word from the organiser's list
- Live camera frames from a stage or kiosk camera
- Round timer and team or individual identity

### Outputs

- Ranked guesses and a correct-guess time
- Points posted to the leaderboard
- Optional replay clip for the event wall, after approval

## Moderation and fallback

**Human approval.** Word lists are written or approved by the organiser, guesses are filtered against a blocked-word list, and a replay reaches the wall only after an operator approves it, the same human step as AI session summaries.

### If something fails

- A named operator can pause, skip or replay any round from the admin panel
- If the vision model is slow or fails, the operator switches the round to a human judge who taps the guess
- Pre-approved word cards run offline from the printed list if the camera or connection drops

## Privacy and consent

The camera opens only after an on-screen consent tap that says what is analysed and for how long. Anyone can decline and take a typed or pre-set alternative round. Frames are used for the round and discarded unless the participant chooses to save a replay.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 the organiser decides the purpose and the retention period, and Sociana configures the consent notice, the withdrawal route and deletion on request. ## What drives the cost

**Price band:** ₹35,000–₹75,000 per activation per occasion, ex-GST (add-on menu). Per-completion model costs are quoted on actuals at proposal; no per-completion rate is published.

- Rounds per day times players per round, since every completion triggers one or more model calls
- Model mix for the round: vision model on camera frames every few seconds
- Frame rate sent to the vision model, which drives the cost of a long round
- Peak concurrency, which sets queueing and the number of kiosks or tablets
- Retention of outputs: replays, galleries and downloads add storage and moderation time
- Rehearsal and operator time on site; kiosks, tablets, cameras and LED walls come from the venue or a hardware partner, not from Sociana

## Questions people ask

Has AI Charades run at a Sociana event?

No. It is a concept activation, built and rehearsed for your event. It uses the same consent and retry pattern as the Growth Code avatar flow.

What happens if the camera or model fails?

The operator switches the round to a human judge from the admin panel, or runs the printed word cards offline. The round does not stall because the model is slow, and points still post to the leaderboard.

Do we need special hardware?

No camera or LED wall comes with Sociana. A tablet, kiosk or stage camera and the venue screen come from the venue or a hardware partner; Sociana supplies the software.
