# Hubilo became VirtualPro: what Indian event teams should do hubilo.com now redirects to VirtualPro by Brandlive. What changed, what to export, how to check your contract and when an in-person alternative fits. SSociana team·19 Oct 2026·6 min read **When we checked on 19 Oct 2026, every hubilo.com page redirected to virtualpro.com, an enterprise virtual and hybrid event platform that links to Brandlive. If your team used Hubilo for a conference or summit, do four things this month: export your data, read your contract for who now serves you, check pricing and support in your own currency, and decide whether you need a virtual platform or an in-person app.** > **Disclosure.** Sociana sells an event app and is one of the alternatives we mention. We compiled this from the public pages linked in the sources on 19 Oct 2026 and have not used VirtualPro. Ownership details are reported by third parties and we say where we have not verified them. ## What actually changed Hubilo was founded in India in 2015 and later moved its headquarters to San Francisco. On 19 Oct 2026 the hubilo.com address redirected to VirtualPro. The VirtualPro site describes an enterprise virtual and hybrid event platform, carries Brandlive legal pages and does not mention Hubilo, India or Bengaluru. CB Insights reports a Brandlive acquisition in Jul 2025\. We have not re-verified that report, so treat the ownership story as reported, not confirmed. That is the first number to work out. ## export what you own Do this before any access change, whatever you decide later. In your current account, download: 1. Registrant and attendee lists, with the fields you collected. 2. Session and speaker data, including descriptions and timings. 3. Poll, Q&A and survey results, with the question wording. 4. Recordings and on-demand assets. A new vendor will not import them for you. 5. Lead and engagement reports for sponsors you have promised to report to. Keep a dated copy in your own storage. If you owe sponsors a post-event report from an event that has already run, produce it now. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, provisions are commencing in phases, with further provisions due from 13 November 2026 ([Wikipedia summary of the Act, 2025](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital%5FPersonal%5FData%5FProtection%5FAct,%5F2023)). Having a clean record of what attendee data you hold, and where, is easier when you export deliberately than when a platform changes under you. ## read the contract, not the website The website tells you what the vendor sells today. Your contract tells you what you were sold. Look for: - The name of the contracting entity and whether it changed. - The term, renewal date and notice period. - Whether your tier, seat count and audience cap carry over. - Support hours and the escalation contact, ideally one in your time zone. - Data location, retention and deletion on exit. - Invoicing currency and whether GST invoices are issued. If any of these are unclear, write to your account contact and ask in writing. A vendor that is changing hands should be able to answer in a paragraph. ## decide what you actually need Hubilo was known for virtual and hybrid events. Your next platform depends on how your events run now. **You mostly run broadcasts.** Webinars, virtual summits and town halls with remote audiences need streaming, captions, Q&A and production support. VirtualPro positions itself for this, and Airmeet, Zuddl and others are named in the [Hubilo comparison](https://sociana.in/compare/sociana-vs-hubilo/) as options. Sociana is not a replacement here: streaming is available on request and we do not replicate webinar production. **You mostly run in-person or hybrid-in-room events.** Annual conferences, partner meets, conclaves and AGMs need entry passes, agenda, polls in the room, networking and, for travelling delegates, arrangements. This is where a different kind of product fits. At Lakshya 26, the Zydus Wellness annual conference, attendees signed in with an email OTP, saw their room number in the app header when it was allotted and answered quizzes that managers switched on from the stage ([Lakshya 26 case study](https://sociana.in/case-studies/lakshya-26-zydus-wellness/)). None of that is virtual-platform work. **You need both.** Keep the broadcast tool for the stream and put an in-person app beside it. Many organisers do this, because one product rarely does both well. ## compare in your own currency and your own terms Price one realistic year, not a list price. Write down your number of events, audience size per event, number of admins who need logins and which services you would buy. For VirtualPro that means the admin-seat tier plus any production services. For a rupee-priced vendor, ask for a quote by occasion and request the GST invoice format. Sociana quotes per occasion by scope and does not publish a price list, so ask us for a proposal rather than expecting a figure here. Also compare what is missing from each side. VirtualPro lists CRM sync with HubSpot, Salesforce and Marketo, SAML single sign-on and lead scoring. Sociana does not offer SAML single sign-on, and offers webhooks and Sheets or Airtable connectors rather than a public API. If your security team requires SSO, that decision may already be made for you. ## plan the migration if you move A realistic move for an in-person event takes days, not months. Sociana’s delivery pattern is configuration on days 1 to 3 and content and launch on days 4 to 10, and the store listing submission sits inside that timeline. What you bring: - The attendee CSV, loaded through [member imports](https://sociana.in/features/member-imports-and-profiles/). - Agenda, speaker and sponsor data. - Login method, for example [phone OTP](https://sociana.in/features/otp-login/), or unique codes for people without a registered phone. - The outcome reports you want, which come through [reports and exports](https://sociana.in/features/reports-and-exports/). What does not come across: recordings and analytics from your old account. That is why Step 1 comes first. ## What we would not do Do not sign a multi-year renewal this month without answers to the contract questions above. Do not assume your former Hubilo features all exist under the new name. Do not let a sponsor report slip because a platform changed hands. And do not pick a replacement by feature count; pick it by what your next event needs on the day. ## FAQ ### Is Hubilo shut down? The Hubilo name is no longer in use on its own website: hubilo.com redirected to virtualpro.com when we checked on 19 Oct 2026\. Whether your account, data and contract moved with it is a question for your account contact, because we cannot see that from public pages. ### Is VirtualPro the same product as Hubilo? We do not know, and public pages do not say. VirtualPro describes an enterprise virtual and hybrid platform and does not mention Hubilo. Ask your account contact which features and data from your Hubilo account carry over, and in writing. ### Can Sociana replace Hubilo for virtual events? No. For broadcasts, webinars and virtual summits, a virtual-first platform is the better fit, and Sociana offers streaming only on request. Sociana is a fit for the in-person and in-room layer: entry, activities, polls, games, networking and hospitality arrangements. ### What should I export before I switch? Registrant lists, session and speaker data, poll and survey results, recordings and sponsor lead reports.
