# Walkthrough: A QR treasure hunt with order rules

A read-only walkthrough, not an interactive demo. In the product: scan the clue card, the map lights the next checkpoint, and a second scan of the same card scores nothing. The organiser can enforce order, and a hidden-QR fallback lets players type a code. The demo has six checkpoints, four teams and sample cards you can click if you have no camera.

**A walkthrough, not a live demo.** Nothing on this page is interactive. QR and image-marker hunts only; no GPS-based outdoor missions are claimed. Sample cards replace printed codes; the camera is optional. The final reveal animation is illustrative.

## Step by step

1. **Read the hunt map.** Six checkpoints and a team progress bar.
2. **Scan a clue card.** Use a sample card or the webcam; the checkpoint scores once.
3. **Try a repeat or wrong order.** Already scanned, or a message about the order rule.
4. **Reach the final marker.** A medal is awarded and an illustrative reveal plays.

## What happens on each screen

This is a written walkthrough, not an interactive demo: there is nothing to tap on this page. It describes how the screens behave in the product, using sample data.

Sample data: six checkpoints for a fictional culture day offsite with printable sample QR cards, and four teams of sample players. Camera use is optional. Nothing is stored. Start on the attendee phone, on the hunt map. Six checkpoints are drawn on a floor plan, with the next one lit and the others dimmed. A team progress bar sits above, showing how far your team has come compared with the other three. Tap the clue for the next checkpoint and read it. Then tap Scan. The demo offers a row of sample cards on the page, which you click, and it also offers the webcam if you want to point your camera at a printed code. Scan the first card and the phone awards 50 points and marks the checkpoint complete. Scan the same card again and the message reads Already scanned, because the organiser has set a once-per-card rule. Now try an out-of-order card. If the organiser has switched on the order rule, the phone explains that you need to find an earlier checkpoint first, and shows which. When a card is damaged or the venue lighting is poor, the hidden-QR fallback lets the player type a four-letter code printed on the card. The image-scan mode points the phone at a marker card instead of a QR. At the last checkpoint, a medal unlocks and a short animated reveal plays on the phone; it is labelled illustrative, because the production reveal is built for your artwork. The organiser pane lists checkpoints, the points for each, the attempts logged, the order rule, the results table and an export. Be clear about the boundaries: this is a QR and AR-card hunt with offline-capable games, not GPS missions across a city. Next step: read the treasure hunts and AR feature page, then plan a venue hunt for your offsite with us.

## Questions people ask

Can the same checkpoint be scored twice?

No. The once-per-card rule shows Already scanned on a repeat scan. The organiser can also enforce an order.

What if a QR card is unreadable?

Players can type the short code printed on the card. The demo shows this hidden-QR fallback.

Does it use GPS?

No. Sociana runs QR and AR-card hunts with printed markers placed at the venue; it does not run GPS-based outdoor missions.

Can teams compete?

Yes. The demo shows a team progress bar for four teams, and the organiser can export results.

## Seen enough to try it?

We will load a demo with your agenda and your groups, so your team can test it on their own phones.
