## Delegate ID and PIN in detail

Some gatherings cannot rely on personal contact details. Government and defence workshops, protocol-sensitive meetings and some international delegations issue credentials through official channels, and delegates are expected to use them. Sociana supports this with delegate ID and PIN login: the organiser imports delegates, generates an ID and a PIN for each, distributes them through the established route, and delegates sign in with the pair. There is no OTP delivery to a personal phone in the chain, which both suits the protocol and avoids SMS dependency. The profile behind the ID carries role, delegation and arrangements, so cab, liaison officer and hotel details appear in the delegate's app. The method is simple to describe and operationally dependent on credential distribution: the organiser needs a reliable way to hand out and re-issue IDs. Offer a help route for lockouts and brief liaison officers on how to help a delegate sign in.

## How Sociana uses it

Delegate ID/PIN is one of Sociana's login models, alongside OTP, employee code, unique code and email domain. Credentials are generated from the member import.

## Example

The Indian Coast Guard's SAREX-26 maritime search-and-rescue workshop signed delegates in with ID and PIN and published cab, liaison and hotel details to each.

## Questions

Why use ID and PIN instead of OTP?

When personal phone numbers or emails are not used or not available, official credentials avoid OTP delivery and fit protocol-sensitive events. Delegate ID and PIN is a login pair issued through official channels so delegates sign in without personal phone numbers or emails, common at government, defence and protocol events.

Who generates the credentials?

The organiser creates IDs and PINs from the imported delegate list and distributes them through the event's official channels. Sociana supports this with delegate ID and PIN login: the organiser imports delegates, generates an ID and a PIN for each, distributes them through the established route, and delegates sign in with the pair.

What if a delegate forgets their PIN?

The desk or liaison officer reissues it through the admin process. Plan a help route before the occasion starts.
