# How to launch a branded event app in 10 days: a day-by-day plan

A day-by-day plan to take a branded event app from brief to launch in ten days: configuration, content, login, store submission and rehearsal.

SSociana team·19 Oct 2026·6 min read

**A branded event app can go live in about ten days when the work is split in two: days one to three for configuration (features, rules, look, login and member import) and days four to ten for content, store submission, rehearsal and launch. That is Sociana’s illustrative delivery pattern; store review time sits outside anyone’s control.**

## Who this guide is for

You are the event lead, brand manager or agency producer who has been told the occasion needs “an app” and the date is close. You have a brief, a guest list in a spreadsheet and some brand assets. You want to know what to decide when, so the date is safe.

## What actually takes the time

Not the configuration. The delays come from four places: brand assets that arrive late, a guest list that is not final, content that is written by committee and the app-store review that follows submission. Sociana is a managed delivery, so the team configures the app with you; your job is to supply decisions and content at the right moment. The app is a branded installation for iOS and Android, so store submission is part of the timeline. Multi-occasion apps avoid a new submission per occasion, which is why agencies often start there.

## The ten-day plan

| Day | Focus | You supply | Output |
| --- | ------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------- |
| 1 | Brief and scope | Goal, audiences, login model, source of truth for the guest list | Feature list and rules sheet |
| 2 | Look and layout | Logo, colours, banner, welcome video, tile order | Branded preview |
| 3 | Login and members | Guest list with names and numbers, groups | Imported members, OTP working |
| 4 | Content part 1 | Agenda, speakers, venue, FAQs | Agenda and information pages |
| 5 | Content part 2 | Travel, help desk, documents, sponsors | Hospitality and info tiles |
| 6 | Engagement | Polls, quiz questions, games, feedback forms | Prepared with visibility off |
| 7 | Store submission | Store listing copy, screenshots, privacy policy link | Submission sent |
| 8 | Test on real phones | 10 to 20 testers on both platforms | Bug list closed |
| 9 | Rehearsal | Scanners, managers, stage cues | Dry run of the day |
| 10 | Launch | Invitation message, QR, helpdesk number | App live to guests |

Treat it as a plan to rehearse, not a promise. A late guest list moves day three; a store query moves day seven.

## Step by step

### Step 1: Settle the brief on day one

Write one page: the goal, the audiences, the three things the app must do and the three it need not. Decide the login model and the source of truth for the guest list. The [feature selection matrix](https://sociana.in/templates/feature-selection-matrix/) helps cut a long wish-list. Resist adding a feature because a competitor event had one.

### Step 2: Separate features, rules and look

Sociana separates what is on, how it behaves and how it looks. Features switch modules on, off or mark them not included. Rules set time windows, group eligibility, limits and points. Look and layout cover branding and tiles. Work through them in that order so you do not style a screen that is later switched off. See [admin panel and roles](https://sociana.in/features/admin-panel-and-roles/).

### Step 3: Apply the brand

Logo, colours, banner and welcome video; the order and visibility of home tiles; themed labels such as “Show Flow” for the agenda. Tiles can be locked with a padlock until their moment, which is useful for quizzes and feedback. A tile with a padlock is a scheduling decision, not an error. See [branding and layout](https://sociana.in/features/branding-and-layout/).

### Step 4: Import the list and fix login

Import names, mobile numbers or emails and groups. Choose OTP by phone, email or WhatsApp. At Lakshya 26 the Zydus Wellness annual conference used email OTP against an imported whitelist, and unknown emails could not log in. Decide who handles late additions and how fast. See [OTP login](https://sociana.in/features/otp-login/) and [member imports](https://sociana.in/features/member-imports-and-profiles/).

### Step 5: Load content in the order guests need it

Agenda first, then the practical pages: venue, FAQs, help desk. Then the optional layers: sponsors, polls, games, feedback. Keep copy short. Appoint one person to approve content and set a deadline for each day.

### Step 6: Submit to the stores early

Prepare the store listing, screenshots and the privacy-policy link on day seven, or earlier. Android held 93.89% of India’s mobile OS market in September 2026 ([StatCounter](https://gs.statcounter.com/os-market-share/mobile/india)), so Android review is the one that matters most for a mass audience, but ship both if leadership uses iPhones. Keep the [store submission checklist](https://sociana.in/templates/store-submission-checklist/) open while you do it.

### Step 7: Test on the devices people actually carry

Ten to twenty testers, both platforms, a mix of older and newer phones, on mobile data as well as Wi-Fi. The [pre-launch QA checklist](https://sociana.in/templates/pre-launch-qa-checklist/) lists the checks. Include an unmapped number and a late addition.

### Step 8: Rehearse the managers

The team that will scan, trigger notifications and run polls rehearses with the production schedule. In-app buttons for Owners and Managers appear only for those roles; check each person sees them.

### Step 9: Launch with one message and one fallback

Send a single invitation with the store links or QR, a login instruction and a helpdesk number. Keep a short web route for anyone who cannot install.

## Pitfalls

1. **Starting before the guest list is stable.** Plan an update path.
2. **Unapproved assets.** No design is treated as final until the client approves it.
3. **Turning everything on.** More tiles, less use. Hide what you will not run.
4. **Leaving the store review to chance.** Submit early and keep a web fallback.
5. **No one on call on launch day.** Staff the helpdesk.

## India and SAARC notes

Plan the launch around the Indian calendar. Many corporate programmes reset in April, and wedding and festival seasons compress availability of venues and vendors; Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November ([Drik Panchang](https://www.drikpanchang.com/diwali/diwali-puja-calendar.html?year=2026), 2026). Keep names and labels in the scripts your audience reads, since content and labels can be in any script. If the occasion is in Dhaka, Colombo or Kathmandu, plan payment and SMS routes for that country early, because Razorpay does not settle there; use an invoicing or local-rail path.

## How Sociana handles this

Delivery is a managed service around the platform. Before the occasion: goals, audiences, success measures, login model, source of truth, field mapping, imports, content and feature staging, store submission and demos. During: attendance, announcements, polls, moderation, scoring, help requests and last-minute changes. After: reconciliation, exports, reports, approved photos and summaries. The illustrative pattern is day one to three of configuration and four to ten of content and launch.

[Lakshya 26](https://sociana.in/case-studies/lakshya-26-zydus-wellness/) shows a deliberately simple app: email OTP, room number in the Home header, quizzes switched on live and a memories gallery. Try the [admin feature switch board demo](https://sociana.in/demos/admin-feature-switch-board/), size the work with the [app launch timeline calculator](https://sociana.in/calculators/app-launch-timeline/) and use the [conference app launch checklist](https://sociana.in/templates/conference-app-launch-checklist/).

## FAQ

### Is ten days a fixed commitment?

No. It is the illustrative pattern: three days of configuration and seven of content and launch. A late guest list, late assets or store review can move it.

### Do we need separate apps for iOS and Android?

Sociana apps are branded installations for both. Submission to each store is part of delivery.

### Can we reuse the app for next year’s occasion?

Yes. Reusable configuration and, for multi-occasion apps, adding a new occasion inside the same installation avoid a fresh submission.

### What do we do if the guest list changes after launch?

Add or update members from the admin panel and brief the helpdesk on the route for late additions.
