# Icebreaker games for work events that are not awkward

Good work icebreakers let people share something small without being put on the spot. These run on phones, mostly anonymously, and put the result on the big screen for everyone to react to together: two truths and a lie with an AI-drafted lie for the shy, anonymous answers the room tries to attribute, and quick dilemmas that split the hall.

Written for HR and L&D teams choosing for a team: what to run, when, for how many. 7 games, each playable in your browser from this page.

## Picking the right icebreaker

For a room that already knows each other, go for surprise (Who Said It, baby photos). For a room of strangers, give people a reason to walk over and talk (AI Alter Ego, coffee roulette). For a big hall, use the one-tap formats (Would You Rather) that need no writing at all.

## Questions people ask

What is a quick icebreaker for a large meeting?

Would You Rather: one tap per round from every phone and a live split on the screen. Five minutes is enough.

Which icebreaker works for new joiners?

Two Truths & a Lie at the start of an induction, or AI Alter Ego at registration: both give strangers a fact to start a conversation with.

Is anything shown on screen without consent?

Answers in Who Said It stay anonymous unless featured, Two Truths never shows contact details, and the matchmaker shares contacts only on a mutual yes.
