Ticket revenue, fees & GST calculator
Your ticket revenue is tickets × price; GST on top is collected for the government. What you keep depends on fees: Sociana Flat is ₹99,000 with 0% commission, Flex is ₹15 per ticket (minimum ₹15,000) capped at the Flat price, and commission platforms take a percentage. Enter your sales to see the net payout on each.

How we calculate
- Ticket value
tickets × price before GSTGST collected = ticket value × GST rate; you pay it to the government.
- Gateway
(ticket value + GST) × gateway % × 1.18Gateways charge on the amount collected, plus 18% GST on their fee. Zero for you if passed to buyers.
- Sociana Flex
min(₹99,000, max(₹15,000, ₹15 × tickets issued))No set-up fee and no percentage of ticket value. The minimum covers the first 1,000 tickets; Flex reaches the Flat price at 6,600 tickets and never exceeds it. The branded app is included.
- Net to you
ticket value − fee × 1.18 − gateway you payEvery fee carries 18% GST, so the three options compare on the same basis. Commission platforms include the gateway in their %.
Assumptions
- Sociana Flat from ₹99,000 per event or season (custom layout, website, branded app, gate scanning); Flex ₹15 per ticket issued, minimum ₹15,000, capped at ₹99,000 (templated branded app and QR gate rules included); both ex-GST, from the price list dated 23 Oct 2026.
- Settlement goes to your own gateway account, daily.
- The 3.75% commission benchmark is a published Indian rate including the gateway, plus GST, checked Oct 2026. Edit it to compare others. On small, cheap-ticket events a commission tool usually costs less, and the calculator says so.
- Ticket GST rates depend on the event and ticket price. This is not tax advice; check with your CA.

Questions about this calculator
Does Sociana take a commission on ticket sales?
On the Flat plan, no: 0% commission, and you pay only the payment gateway. On the Flex plan we charge ₹15 per ticket issued (minimum ₹15,000), never a percentage, capped at the Flat price. Either way, the money settles into your own account.
Who pays GST on event tickets?
The organiser collects GST from buyers and pays it to the government. It is not revenue. Sociana’s fee carries its own 18% GST, which registered organisers can usually claim as input credit.
When is Flat better than Flex?
From 6,600 tickets, Flex reaches its ₹99,000 cap, so both cost the same and Flat adds a custom layout, a website and in-app food or merch. Below that Flex is cheaper.
Is a commission ticketing tool ever cheaper?
Yes. For a few hundred cheap tickets, a percentage tool usually costs less than the ₹15,000 Flex minimum, and the calculator shows it. Sociana pays off when you want your own branded app and QR entry with rules, or when ticket prices are high, because the per-ticket fee does not grow with the price.
