Walkthrough

Walkthrough: One identity, many QR contexts

A read-only walkthrough, not an interactive demo. In the product: the pass is a screen, not a print job: zoom it, show it at the gate, and watch the same personal QR serve attendance, exhibitor scans and reward redemption. The unregistered state shows a Register Now banner that disappears when registration completes. The demo uses four fictional expo visitors.

Welcome pop-up explaining the unique QR code sits in the Profile tab, over a dimmed home with an About Us button and a Book Your Meeting Room card

A walkthrough, not a live demo. Nothing on this page is interactive. Fictional visitors; the gate scan is a button. No badge printing or kiosk hardware is shown. The pass depends on registration; the demo simulates it.

Step by step

  1. Open the Entry Pass. Quick Access shows name, category chips and a QR you can zoom.
  2. See the unregistered state. A box says you are not registered yet; Register Now completes it.
  3. Scan at the gate. A gate-staff pane shows a green welcome or a red no-pass message.
  4. Switch the scan context. The same QR is read for attendance, stall, reward and activity.

What happens on each screen

This is a written walkthrough, not an interactive demo: there is nothing to tap on this page. It describes how the screens behave in the product, using sample data.

Sample data: four fictional visitors of a wedding-industry exhibition in Bengaluru, each with a pass in a different category, and a gate-staff pane. No real person is scanned. Start on the attendee phone. In Quick Access, tap Entry Pass. The pass fills the screen: the visitor's name, one or two category chips taken from sign-up, and a large QR code. Pinch to zoom, or use the zoom buttons or scroll wheel on the page. A Member Pass variant is available from Profile and works the same way. Now try the unregistered persona. Instead of a pass, the screen shows a pink box reading You are not registered for this occasion yet, with a Register Now banner. Tap it, complete the sample registration, and the box vanishes and the pass appears, because the pass is generated from the registration, not from a printed sheet. Move to the gate-staff pane. Staff scan the visitor's QR. A registered visitor gets a green card saying Welcome, Priya. A visitor without a pass gets a red No pass. The scan is written to the gate log. Next comes the context strip, which is the lesson of the demo. Across the top are four chips: Attendance, Exhibitor scan, Reward redemption and Activity. Change the scanner pane from one context to another and the same QR is read for a different purpose: marked present at a session, recorded as a visit to a stall, redeemed at a reward desk, or counted at an activity. Export as image saves the pass for a visitor who prefers a screenshot. Sociana does not print badges or supply kiosk hardware. Next step: read the entry pass and personal QR feature page, and see how the BWF meet-up used passes at an exhibition.

Questions people ask

Can the same QR be used for attendance and stall visits?

Yes. One personal QR identifies the member in every context. What changes is the scanner: attendance, exhibitor scan, reward redemption or activity.

What happens if someone has not registered?

The Entry Pass tile shows a box saying they are not registered yet, with a Register Now banner. Completing registration unlocks the pass.

Is there badge printing?

Sociana uses the QR entry pass, organiser scanning and self check-in. Sociana does not print badges on site or supply kiosk hardware.

Can a pass be saved outside the app?

The demo offers Export as image so a visitor can keep a screenshot. The live pass in the app is the one that gets scanned.
