Digital badge in detail
Badges recognise without spending money, which is why they appear in almost every Sociana programme. A badge is configured with a rule: reach a daily step goal, keep a streak for a number of days, cross a points threshold to a new tier, or hit a period target such as the best week of a month. When the rule is met, the badge appears on the participant's profile and can be celebrated on the timeline. Unlike wallet points, badges are not spent, and unlike rank they do not depend on beating others, so they reward consistency in people who will never top a leaderboard. Used together, badges and tiers give long programmes, such as multi-week walking challenges or year-round ambassador schemes, small, repeated moments of progress. A digital badge here is a recognition graphic inside the app, not a verifiable credential or event pass, and it is separate from printed name badges at the venue.
How Sociana uses it
Badges are configured in the points and rewards area with rule and artwork per badge. In wellness programmes they commonly track steps, streaks and tiers.
Example
A walking expedition gave participants badges for consistent days and for reaching route milestones.
