Stepathon in detail
The word stepathon is how Indian HR and wellness teams describe a multi-day or multi-week step challenge, usually run company-wide with teams, leaderboards and a finish line. In Sociana a stepathon is configured inside the programme's app using health-data sync rather than a separate wellness platform: participants grant permission, steps sync daily from Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS, and the app shows today's steps, total, average, best day and hourly views. Organisers set a start date, goals, daily caps, team targets and boosts, and use streaks, badges, journey progress and weekly pace to keep people moving. Fair-play controls flag unusual days and ignore manual entries. The scope is deliberately narrow and honest: step and activity challenges, not a corporate wellness suite with coaching, nutrition or biometrics. Programmes are reported through valid synced days, consistency and improvement rankings.
How Sociana uses it
Stepathons run in the step-challenge module on Health Connect and Apple Health sync. Reporting centres on valid synced days, consistency, improvement and variance.
Example
A corporate walking expedition and a cultural-offsite stepathon each used the same sync engine with different goals and themes.
