Set up a QR treasure hunt

How organisers place QR markers around a venue, order the clues, set scan limits and award completion points.

  1. Switch on QR hunt for the occasion
  2. Create each marker with its clue or reveal
  3. Set step order and scan limits per person or team
  4. Print the codes and place them around the venue, then walk the route once

Good to know

  • Completion can earn a bonus.
  • AR marker cards use the same set-up.

If something goes wrong

A scan does nothing. Ask the player to allow camera permission for the app.

A marker is refused. Step order is on and an earlier marker has not been scanned yet.

Questions

Can teams play together?

Yes. Scan limits can apply per participant or team, and step order can be switched on so markers must be scanned in sequence. If a marker is refused, step order is on and an earlier marker has not been scanned yet. Completion can earn a bonus. Walk the route once before the event.

Can I reuse the markers next year?

Yes, by resetting the scan counts. The printed codes stay valid, so keep them and re-check each clue or reveal for the new occasion. AR marker cards use the same set-up. If a scan does nothing, ask the player to allow camera permission for the app.

Rather we set this up for you?

Our team configures it for your event and stays on the ops desk with you on the days.
