Sociana + Calendar (ICS)
Sociana shows a day-wise agenda with Live and Up Next badges inside the app, and reminders reach guests by push or WhatsApp. Add-to-calendar (.ics) export is not available today; it is on the roadmap. If your guests need calendar files, tell us in the brief and we will scope it with you.
On the roadmap
What it does inside Sociana
Show Flow, Programme and JSAgenda are themed labels for the agenda. Guests follow it in the app and receive reminders by push or WhatsApp, scheduled by group. An ICS file would let a guest add a session to Google, Apple or Outlook calendars; that export is not available today, so reminders run on push and WhatsApp, which also update when the agenda changes.

Data protection (DPDP)
The organiser is the Data Fiduciary and Sociana acts as processor. Ask us for the hosting region and retention period that apply to your occasion; the sub-processor list is on the Sub-processors and integrations page. We do not state a region or retention period on this page.
Security notes
- An ICS file carries event details, not personal data, unless you add names to it.
Set-up checklist
- Tell us early if guests need calendar files, so we can scope ICS export with you.
- Build the agenda with correct time zones.
- Use scheduled announcements for reminders in the meantime.
- Share a PDF or link of the agenda as a fallback.
- Re-send changes through announcements, since calendar files may not update by themselves.
Limits, stated plainly
- Add-to-calendar (.ics) export is not available today.
- Calendar files do not update live once a guest has added them, so changes still go out as announcements.
- Time zones for destination occasions are set on the agenda itself.

Questions people ask
Can guests add sessions to their calendar?
Not today. The agenda lives in the app and reminders go by push or WhatsApp. If add-to-calendar matters for your occasion, raise it in the brief and we will scope it.
Why keep reminders in the app rather than in calendars?
Because agendas change. A calendar entry does not update once it is added, while an announcement by group reaches the right people when a session moves.
How do I remind guests of changes?
Use scheduled announcements by group, optionally pushed to the phone or sent over WhatsApp.
