Sociana + Streaming: YouTube & Vimeo (legacy)
Streaming is available on request and is not a core Sociana module. Earlier apps embedded a YouTube or Vimeo stream from the organiser's own channel; it is not a repeatable module, and Sociana is not a webinar platform with breakout rooms or viewer analytics.
Legacy
What it does inside Sociana
Streaming sits alongside donations, food, parking and merchandise as add-ons available on request. A stream is an embed of the organiser's own YouTube or Vimeo channel inside a public web flow or an in-app page. Chat, Q&A and viewer analytics come from the streaming platform, not Sociana.

Data protection (DPDP)
The organiser is the Data Fiduciary and Sociana acts as processor. Ask us for the hosting region and retention period that apply to your occasion; the sub-processor list is on the Sub-processors and integrations page. We do not state a region or retention period on this page.
Security notes
- The platform's own privacy terms apply to viewers.
- Members-only gating is only as strong as the unlisted link.
Set-up checklist
- Create the stream on your own YouTube or Vimeo account.
- Share the embed link with the Sociana team.
- Decide public or members-only access.
- Test on mobile data, not only office wifi.
- Keep a recording and a backup link.
Limits, stated plainly
- Not a webinar platform; no breakout rooms, Q&A or viewer analytics.
- Embed rules and ads are the streaming platform's.
- Concurrency limits are the streaming platform's; Sociana publishes no peak figure.

Who handles streaming scale?
YouTube or Vimeo carry the stream and its audience scale. Sociana does not publish a concurrency figure, so ask the streaming platform about its limits.
