Event NPS survey template

A twenty-two-step survey that opens with the recommendation question, branches by score and then covers experience, value and profile. It says why each question is asked and how to report the answer, so the net score is never shown alone.

  • 22 rows
  • About 45 minutes to adapt, one week to collect
  • Version 1.0

No sign-up needed.

Who it is for

  • Association secretariats measuring member sentiment
  • Corporate event managers reporting to leadership
  • Analysts who need a survey they can repeat every year

How to use it

  1. Keep the recommendation question first and unchanged between editions.
  2. Turn on the branches so each respondent sees one follow-up and not three.
  3. Close the survey within a week of the event, while memories are fresh.
  4. Report the net score with the three groups and the number of responses next to it.

Where it has been used

Shaped by the post-event surveys described in the APMI annual conference and EEMA Connect case studies.

Questions people ask

Why branch by score?

Happy guests tell you what to keep, neutral guests tell you what to improve and unhappy guests tell you what went wrong. One question for each keeps the survey short.

Is a net score enough?

No. Show the promoters, passives and detractors and the number of responses, because a net score on a small sample can mislead.

When should I send it?

Within a day of the close, with a reminder after three days. Late responses are fewer and less accurate.
