Try it: one leaderboard across polls, games, steps and attendance

One board, many sources: earn points as Priya by voting, getting scanned at the door, walking 500 steps, giving feedback or winning a quiz round, and watch her rank move on the phone and on the venue screen. Switch between Individual and Teams, then act as the organiser: adjust points with a reason, exclude staff, filter by day or pause the board.

Points per action are example values; each occasion sets its own scheme · Twelve of 48 participants are shown and the other scores are sample · Adjustments are added to the games source in this demo

Accessibility: Rankings are tables with captions; rank changes are announced in a live region; the pause state is text plus an icon; all controls are buttons, switches and labelled inputs.

Step by step

  1. Find your rank. Leaderboard tab: All Activity / Activity Tracker, Individual / Teams, a Your rank card and the ranked list.
  2. Earn points from different sources. Press Vote in a poll, Scanned at the door, Walk 500 steps, Session feedback or Win a quiz round; rank changes are announced.
  3. Switch to Teams. Team totals are the sum of members' points; Priya's team is Coral.
  4. Adjust as the organiser. Add or deduct points with a reason; the audit line records who changed what and why.
  5. Exclude staff, filter, pause. Exclude staff removes the organiser from the ranking; Day 2 shows the empty state; Pause locks the tab on every phone.

What happens on each screen

The demo shows the leaderboard of Horizon Summit 2026 from three sides. Priya's phone is on the Leaderboard tab under the event banner “Let's make the most out of our time together”. The Stage shows the top five on the venue screen. The Control Room holds five action buttons that earn points as Priya and the organiser's controls. Twelve of the 48 participants are shown, and while the page is open the other eleven keep scoring small amounts from random sources, so the board never stands still.

Priya starts around ninth with 130 points. The Your rank card shows her rank and points. Each action adds points from a different source: a poll vote adds 10, an attendance scan 20, 500 steps 5, a session feedback form 15 and a quiz round win 25. After each press a toast names the source, the list reorders, and screen readers hear “You moved up from rank 9 to rank 7” or the new total. Under the buttons, a line breaks her points down by source, which is the point of a unified board: a person who never plays games can still climb by turning up and answering polls.

The All Activity view ranks the total. Activity Tracker ranks one contest at a time, polls, attendance, steps, feedback or games, which is how contests work inside the leaderboard. The Individual / Teams switch turns the list into team totals; Priya is in Coral, so the rank card shows Coral's rank and points and the venue screen changes to team standings.

The organiser controls match the product. Adjust points takes a participant, an amount (negative to deduct) and a reason, and writes an audit line such as “+10 to Priya Nair, helped at the registration desk, by Ananya Rao”. Exclude staff removes Ananya, who is an organiser, from the ranking so prizes go to participants. The time filter has Overall, Day 1 and Day 2; Day 2 shows the app's real empty state, “Currently there is no leaderboard data available.”, because no Day 2 points exist yet. Pause leaderboard locks the tab on the phone with a red lock and the message that it has been paused by the organisers, stops the sample scoring and blanks the venue screen. Reset demo restores the starting points.

Questions people ask

Which actions can earn leaderboard points?

Polls, quizzes and games, attendance scans, step syncs, feedback forms, social posts and booth scans can all feed one board. The organiser chooses which sources count and how many points each is worth.

Can staff be kept off the leaderboard?

Yes. Organisers and staff can be excluded so the ranking and any prizes go to participants, while their own activity is still recorded.

Can the organiser correct points?

Yes. Admins add or deduct points with a reason, and each adjustment is kept as an audit line, so prize decisions can be explained afterwards.

What does pausing the leaderboard do?

It locks the tab on every phone with a short message, for example before a prize reveal, and unlocks it with one switch. Points keep being recorded while it is paused.
