Occasion in detail
Most event software says "event" for everything, which blurs two different things: the gathering and the items on its agenda. Sociana separates them. The occasion is the container. It holds the members, groups, features, rules and look of one gathering, whether that gathering lasts a single evening, three days in Jaipur or twelve months of an employee programme. Everything an organiser configures hangs off it: who may join, what the home screen shows, which polls and games are switched on, how points are scored. Because the occasion is the unit of configuration, it is also the unit of reporting; activation, participation and hospitality completeness are all measured per occasion. One organisation can own many occasions, and one branded app can expose one occasion or several. A wedding with five functions is still one occasion; a year-long Carlsberg-style ambassador programme is also one occasion, with tournaments inside it.
How Sociana uses it
In the Sociana admin panel an Organisation owns Occasions. Each Occasion has its own Members, Groups, Features, Rules and Look & layout, and its own exports, so a metric is never mixed across gatherings.
Example
An agency-branded multi-occasion app lets guests discover each client occasion and join it by code or QR, so each client keeps separate members and data.
