Event (session) in detail
Inside every occasion sits an agenda, and each line on it is an event: the opening plenary at 10 am, the gala dinner, the return coach to the hotel. In product pages Sociana keeps the capital-E word for exactly this meaning, while marketing copy still says event app in the everyday sense. The distinction matters because many controls attach to the session rather than the whole occasion. A session can show a Live or Up Next badge based on the clock, collect its own feedback form, open a time-boxed attendance activity or trigger a poll from a manager's phone. Sessions can also be scoped to groups, so a partners-only workshop never appears for employees. Reporting follows the same logic: session-level attendance and ratings roll up into occasion-level metrics, but each remains inspectable on its own. Themed labels such as Show Flow, Programme or JSAgenda rename the agenda without changing how sessions behave.
How Sociana uses it
Events are the agenda rows of an occasion. Admins set time, room, speakers and group visibility, and the app derives Live and Up Next badges, reminders and session feedback prompts from them.
Example
The Indian Coast Guard's SAREX-26 maritime search-and-rescue workshop ran its day-wise agenda as sessions, each with its own room, time and reminder, while delegates saw only the sessions meant for their category.
