Sociana + Venue screens & LED
Sociana shows live polls, voting and results on venue screens through a browser view that the AV team puts on the LED wall or projector. It is a web page, not a hardware integration, and Sociana does not supply screens or switching. The AV vendor owns the signal chain.
Live
What it does inside Sociana
Poll and quiz posts, no-login live polls and live voting have venue-screen displays, with manager-side trigger controls so the host decides when a question appears. The screen output is a full-screen web view that the venue's AV team connects like any other source. Plan a rehearsal with the AV vendor on the real wall before the day.
What the organiser configures
- Which poll or result screens are shown
- Trigger controls and who holds them
- Branding and theme for the screen view
- Question timing and display duration
Data that flows, and where it is stored
| Data | From | To | Stored |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live poll results and leaderboard rows | Sociana | Browser on the AV laptop, then LED or projector | Not stored on the screen; the underlying votes live in Sociana |
| Audience votes | Guests by app or QR link | Sociana | Sociana database (hosting region on request) |
Data protection (DPDP)
The organiser is the Data Fiduciary and Sociana acts as processor. Ask us for the hosting region and retention period that apply to your occasion; the sub-processor list is on the Sub-processors and integrations page. We do not state a region or retention period on this page.
Security notes
- Voting is open by link; do not display personal data on the wall.
- Public result screens are visible to anyone in the room.

Questions people ask
Do you provide the LED screen?
No. Sociana provides the web view; the venue or AV vendor owns the screen, the switcher and the cables.
Does it work inside PowerPoint?
There is no add-in for PowerPoint, Google Slides, Teams or Zoom. The route is a separate browser tab on the AV laptop, switched on and off by the AV operator.
What if the venue wifi is poor?
Voting depends on guests' connections. Test on the real network and have a backup, because we do not publish a peak-concurrency figure.
