What is “Hashtag collection”?

Hashtag collection is the gathering of public posts carrying a chosen hashtag or from chosen profiles into an occasion's feed or social wall, subject to organiser approval.

Also called: hashtag aggregation, social collection

Hashtag collection in detail

People post about events on platforms the organiser does not control. Hashtag collection pulls those posts in, so a single occasion hashtag can feed the social wall and enrich the in-app timeline. The organiser picks the hashtag or profile list and decides whether collected posts need approval before display. Approval matters: a public hashtag attracts jokes, spam and competitor promotions as readily as celebration. Collection depends on third-party platform access and policies, which can change, so a wall should never be the only plan for showing audience content; app-native posts should carry the load. Brief participants on the hashtag early, print it on signage, and avoid generic tags that other events also use. After the occasion, collected content can be exported, and the same moderation queue shows what was approved and rejected. Consider consent: a post is public on its platform, but displaying it on a stage is a different use.

How Sociana uses it

Collection feeds the moderation queue, then the social wall and timeline. Hashtags and profiles are set in the social wall configuration.

Example

A corporate experience programme collected hashtagged posts onto a wall named Xchange.
