What is “Public post link”?

A public post link is a web link that exposes one post outside the app and can be switched off by the organiser at any time, making sharing reversible.

Also called: shareable post link, revocable link

Public post link in detail

Memories are worth sharing beyond the guest list, but sharing is hard to undo. Sociana's public post link makes it reversible. A participant or organiser can share a single post through a web link that opens in a browser without the app; the organiser retains the ability to revoke it, after which the link stops working. The scope is one post, not the whole timeline, so sharing a highlight does not expose the rest of the occasion. It is a public web flow, running on the same engine as the app, and it is useful for wedding highlights, award moments and speaker clips that the organiser wants amplified on LinkedIn or WhatsApp. Policy questions are the main design work: who may create links, whether the content needs approval, and how the link interacts with download control. Revocation is a safety valve, but copies already saved are out of reach, so choose the content carefully.

How Sociana uses it

Public post links are a public web flow tied to a single post and controlled by the organiser's revocation setting, so a shared link can be switched off after the occasion.

Example

A wedding or conference highlight can be shared outside the app by link, with the organiser able to switch it off.

Questions

What does a public post link expose?

One post, viewable in a browser without the app, rather than the whole timeline. Sociana's public post link makes it reversible. A public post link is a web link that exposes one post outside the app and can be switched off by the organiser at any time, making sharing reversible.

Can it be withdrawn?

Yes. The organiser can revoke the link, after which it stops working, though copies already saved cannot be recalled. A participant or organiser can share a single post through a web link that opens in a browser without the app; the organiser retains the ability to revoke it, after which the link stops working.

How does it relate to downloads?

Download control governs saving in the app. A shared link is a separate public view, so set both policies deliberately. A wedding or conference highlight can be shared outside the app by link, with the organiser able to switch it off.
