What is “Qualified lead”?

A qualified lead is a captured contact that an exhibitor has judged worth following up, typically after a conversation that confirmed need, authority or buying intent.

Also called: sales-qualified lead, hot lead

Qualified lead in detail

A scan is not a qualified lead. Anyone walking past can be scanned, but a qualified lead is a person the exhibitor has spoken to and rated. In Sociana's lead capture, qualification is the exhibitor's own judgement, recorded as notes against the scan; there are no formal qualification fields or scoring. The practical workflow is simple. Staff scan, add a short note on need and next step, and export the set after the show. Sorting the export by notes lets the sales team separate warm leads from curiosity scans. For organisers, this distinction matters when reporting exhibitor value: report scans, consented leads and notes completed as separate numbers, and avoid inflating the total. Lead scoring is not available today; teams that want it use a simple colour or one-word convention in notes such as hot, warm or info only, applied the same way by all staff on the stall.

How Sociana uses it

A qualified lead is a scan with exhibitor notes; Sociana records the scan and notes but does not score or auto-qualify leads.

Example

An exhibitor team agrees that notes starting with hot, warm or info let sales sort the exported scan log by follow-up priority.

Questions

Does Sociana score leads?

No. There is no automatic lead scoring. Exhibitors record notes and qualify leads themselves. How can exhibitors separate warm leads?

By using a consistent note convention, then sorting the exported scan log by those notes. Sorting the export by notes lets the sales team separate warm leads from curiosity scans. An exhibitor team agrees that notes starting with hot, warm or info let sales sort the exported scan log by follow-up priority.
