Repeat-scan limit in detail
Some activities should be scanned once: a meal, a gift collection, a bus seat. Others are naturally repeated: a registration desk revisited, a networking lounge, a gym slot. The repeat-scan limit lets the organiser say which. Set to one, the first accepted scan counts and every later attempt is recorded as a rejected attempt, with the scanner seeing a clear message. Set higher, it permits the stated number. Because attempts, scanner and time are kept, the organiser can later see who tried to enter twice and when, which is useful for dispute handling and for spotting shared passes. The limit works with time windows: a person may be allowed one scan in a window, but a new window, such as the second day's dinner, resets the opportunity. Communicate the rule to volunteers before the event so they know a rejection is the system working, not a fault.
How Sociana uses it
The limit is a setting in the activity's attendance rule. Rejected repeats appear as scan attempts, separate from unique accepted attendance.
Example
A dinner activity accepted one scan per delegate, with repeat attempts logged but not counted.
