Townhall in detail
A townhall lives or dies on questions. Employees want to ask something real without the awkwardness of a live microphone, and leaders want to hear the question that people are whispering about. Sociana's approach is the moderated question line: staff submit questions in the app or by scanning a QR, an organiser reviews them in a queue and approved ones appear on the venue screen or are read out. Live polls give a quick read on sentiment, and results appear on screen without a login. Group scoping can aim notices at one location or function. The practical risk is moderation: leaders want to be seen answering hard questions, so agree upfront who approves, whether anonymous questions are accepted and how unanswered ones get replies later. Townhalls cluster around results announcements, new-year plans and Diwali, so build a reusable occasion and clone it for each edition. Streaming is available on request, not a built-in module.
How Sociana uses it
Townhalls use a moderation queue for questions, no-login polls on venue screens and group-scoped notices. Live streaming is on request.
Example
A strategy meet opened a line to leadership in the app so staff could ask questions before they reached the stage.
