Travel desk in detail
At Indian events the travel desk, or hospitality desk, is the nerve centre: the people who answer where is my cab, change my flight, I have lost my ticket. Sociana supports the desk rather than replacing it. The operations workspace gives desk staff a live view of requests and records, with team-sheet access for shifts, so several people can handle exceptions from the same data. Participants can raise help-desk requests from the app, and the desk publishes corrections back to individual pages. What the platform does not do is book travel, handle ticketing with airlines or sync with expense and duty-of-care systems; those belong to travel partners. The distinction should be explicit in scoping to avoid disappointment. A well-run desk has named owners per shift, standard answers for frequent questions and an escalation tree, and uses the end-of-day export as a reconciliation tool. Staffing should be based on the number of arrivals per hour, not the total headcount.
How Sociana uses it
The desk's tools are the live operations workspace and help-desk requests. Booking remains with travel partners; Sociana provides collection, verification and publication.
Example
A destination conclave ran hospitality through a central desk, with participants raising requests from their app.
