- Prepare a CSV with a phone number or email for each person, plus name, company, city and group
- Open Members and choose the import option
- Map each column to a profile field and to a group
- Check the preview, run the import and spot-check three members in the app
Good to know
- Employee code, city and zone can assign groups and narrow attendance lists, so include them if rules depend on them.
- If This is me is on, imported details are locked for attendees and corrections come back to you.
- A category field can cap choices, for example two business categories.
If something goes wrong
Rows are skipped. Duplicate numbers and malformed emails are skipped. Fix those lines and run the file again.
A member sees almost nothing. The group column was blank. A member with no group sees only Home and Profile.
A returning user is asked for details again. Their login number differs from the imported one.
Questions
Can I re-import the same file?
Yes. Importing updates existing members instead of duplicating them, so you can correct a column and run the file again. Duplicate numbers and malformed emails are skipped, so fix those lines. Check the preview, then spot-check three members in the app. A blank group column leaves a member seeing only Home and Profile.
Are members messaged on import?
No. Importing only creates or updates the member records. Send a notification or campaign when you want them to know the app is ready. Include employee code, city and zone if group rules or attendance lists depend on them. If This is me is on, imported details are locked for attendees and corrections come back to you.
