AI as event-aware character
AI Escape Room: a puzzle room with an AI game master
AI Escape Room is a concept activation, built per occasion: teams solve four to six connected text, visual, audio and clue puzzles while an adaptive AI game master gives hints, subtle first and clearer later, each costing points. The fastest team with the fewest hints wins, which suits a multi-hour conference.
ConceptConcept, built for your event. We scope it, rehearse it with your team and agree a fallback.
The idea
The AI is a game master in character. Because hints are adaptive and cost points, a team that is stuck is helped without anyone watching the clock. It is longer than most activations, so it works as a background track across a day.
How it runs on event day
- Attendee
- Joins as a team on a tablet, solves linked puzzles and asks the game master for a hint when stuck.
- Operator
- Writes or approves the puzzle chain and the answer key, sets hint costs, monitors team progress and can advance or reset a team.
- LED or venue screen
- A progress board for all teams, hint counts and a final leaderboard; puzzle content stays on team devices.
Inputs and outputs
Inputs
- A puzzle chain and answer key from the organiser
- Team answers and hint requests
Outputs
- Adaptive hints, subtle first
- Time and hint-adjusted score
- Team ranking
Moderation and fallback
Human approval. Puzzles and answers are fixed by the organiser, hints are generated within a hint ladder the operator approved, and the operator can override any hint or score.
If something fails
- A named operator can pause, skip or replay any round from the admin panel
- If the model is down, the pre-written hint ladder runs from the organiser's list
- Optional physical clue stations are supplied by the organiser and keep the game running without screens
Privacy and consent
No camera or microphone is needed. Typed answers and chosen options are stored with the participant record for scoring and reports, and the notice says so. Names and company details appear on a screen only if the organiser switches that on.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 the organiser decides the purpose and the retention period, and Sociana configures the consent notice, the withdrawal route and deletion on request. Collect only what a round needs. Details sit on the data protection and AI pages in the trust centre; nothing here is a legal opinion. What drives the cost
Price band: ₹35,000–₹75,000 per activation per occasion, ex-GST (add-on menu). Per-completion model costs are quoted on actuals at proposal; no per-completion rate is published.
- Rounds per day times players per round, since every completion triggers one or more model calls
- Model mix for the round: a language model for hints; a vision model if puzzles include images
- Hints requested per team and the number of rounds
- Peak concurrency, which sets queueing and the number of kiosks or tablets
- Retention of outputs: replays, galleries and downloads add storage and moderation time
- Rehearsal and operator time on site; kiosks, tablets, cameras and LED walls come from the venue or a hardware partner, not from Sociana
Questions people ask
Could the AI give away the answer?
Only within the hint ladder the operator approved: subtle first, clearer later, each at a point cost. The answer key is fixed by the organiser, and the operator can reset or advance a team.
How long does it run?
Designed for a multi-hour conference: four to six rounds that teams can dip into between sessions. Duration is set per occasion and rehearsed beforehand.
Is it the same as the games library entry?
Yes, the same concept. The games library page holds the rules, and this page covers event-day running, moderation, privacy and cost. Both say concept, built per occasion.
