AI as coach
Detective Clues: can you spot the AI?
Detective Clues is a concept activation, built per occasion: players inspect images, emails, ads or headlines and choose real or AI-made, then the AI explains the clues they missed. The explanation after each answer is the point, which makes it sponsor-friendly and educational.
ConceptConcept, built for your event. We scope it, rehearse it with your team and agree a fallback.
The idea
The AI acts as a coach rather than an opponent. After each answer the screen reveals what gave the item away: odd textures, a stiff tone, a logic gap. Cybersecurity, fintech and media teams use the format to build the habit of checking before trusting.
How it runs on event day
- Attendee
- Plays rapid rounds on a phone, tapping Real or AI and reading the explanation, individually or as a team.
- Operator
- Curates the item set and the answer key beforehand, sets round time and which explanation lines show, and approves any new item before it goes live.
- LED or venue screen
- The current item, a countdown, the reveal with the explanation, and the leaderboard between rounds.
Inputs and outputs
Inputs
- Organiser-curated items with a known answer
- Participant answers and response time
Outputs
- Accuracy and time score
- AI-written explanation per item
- Leaderboard and a topic-wise accuracy summary
Moderation and fallback
Human approval. Items and the answer key are fixed in advance by the organiser, so the AI explains rather than decides. Explanations are generated against that key and an operator can edit or hide any line.
If something fails
- A named operator can pause, skip or replay any round from the admin panel
- If the model cannot explain an item, a pre-written explanation from the organiser plays instead
- If the connection drops, the round uses the pre-loaded explanations and syncs scores later
Privacy and consent
No camera or microphone is needed. Typed answers and chosen options are stored with the participant record for scoring and reports, and the notice says so. Names and company details appear on a screen only if the organiser switches that on.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 the organiser decides the purpose and the retention period, and Sociana configures the consent notice, the withdrawal route and deletion on request. Collect only what a round needs. Details sit on the data protection and AI pages in the trust centre; nothing here is a legal opinion. What drives the cost
Price band: ₹35,000–₹75,000 per activation per occasion, ex-GST (add-on menu). Per-completion model costs are quoted on actuals at proposal; no per-completion rate is published.
- Rounds per day times players per round, since every completion triggers one or more model calls
- Model mix for the round: a language model for explanations; a vision model only if new images are checked
- Whether items are pre-loaded (cheap) or generated live (dearer)
- Peak concurrency, which sets queueing and the number of kiosks or tablets
- Retention of outputs: replays, galleries and downloads add storage and moderation time
- Rehearsal and operator time on site; kiosks, tablets, cameras and LED walls come from the venue or a hardware partner, not from Sociana
Questions people ask
Is the AI deciding what is real?
No. The organiser sets each item and its answer in advance. The AI writes the explanation of the clues against that key, and an operator can edit or replace any explanation before or during the round.
How is this different from a quiz?
The format is a quiz, and it runs on the live quiz engine. What changes is the explanation after each answer, which is what makes it a coaching moment rather than a score. It remains a concept activation, built per occasion.
Can sponsors use it?
Yes, items can carry a sponsor theme such as phishing or deepfakes. Sponsor content passes the same organiser approval as everything else before it reaches a screen.
