What is “Employee-code login”?

Employee-code login is a sign-in method that uses an employee ID with a password or OTP, matched against an imported staff list, instead of relying on personal contact details.

Also called: employee ID login, staff code sign-in

Employee-code login in detail

Large employers often prefer that people sign in with the identifier they already know: their employee number. Sociana supports it as a login model. The organiser imports the staff file with employee codes and any profile fields such as city, zone or department, and employees sign in with the code and a password, or with a one-time password where configured. The method suits programmes where the HR master is the source of truth and where personal numbers are not held in HR records. It also supports clean group assignment from the same file. Where employees are listed, it is stronger than an open email-domain rule because only those in the file can enter. It is not single sign-on: Sociana does not offer SAML, SCIM or HRIS integration, so file freshness is the organiser's responsibility. Plan for joiners, leavers and typos with a written process for corrections before and during the occasion.

How Sociana uses it

Employee-code login is configured in identity settings with a member import. Profile fields from the file drive groups, such as city and zone.

Example

A corporate booth-rewards programme signed employees in using employee IDs.
