Rule in detail
If feature switches decide what exists, rules decide how it behaves. Rules are the small, specific settings that make the same module feel different across occasions. A timeline feed might allow only organisers to post in a formal conclave, but let every member post in a wedding. A gallery may block downloads for one group and allow them for another. A poll can be restricted to a single group. Chat can require that both people hold a ticket. Attendance activities carry time windows, group eligibility and repeat-scan limits. Because rules are configured per occasion in the admin panel, a change takes effect without a new app release. They are also where privacy and brand decisions become concrete, since moderation, visibility and download permissions are all rules. Good rule design is mostly about writing down the organiser's intent once, so the platform enforces it at every touchpoint.
How Sociana uses it
Rules are the second layer of Features / Rules / Look & layout. They are set per occasion, and several are group-aware, so one rule can differ between Partners and Employees.
Example
A formal executive meet restricted who could post to the feed and switched off photo downloads for guests.
