Whitelist in detail
A whitelist, or allow list, flips the default. Instead of letting anyone sign up and then screening them, the organiser loads the permitted people first, from a guest list, an employee file or a ticket export. Only those who match can sign in, or can be auto-approved, depending on the occasion's setup. It is the simplest strong control for private gatherings: a family wedding, a client conclave, an internal townhall. Sociana treats it as a rule in the identity area, alongside allowed email domains, personal codes and approval-based flows. Lists are maintained by member import, and mistakes, such as a typo in a phone number, are the usual operational headache, so late additions need a path, often the registration review queue. The term whitelist is the one buyers use; some organisations prefer allow list, and both are acceptable. Pair the rule with clear error messaging so someone who is rejected knows who to contact.
How Sociana uses it
The whitelist is configured as an access rule in the occasion's identity settings, maintained through imports and guest list tools.
Example
A private executive gathering admitted only delegates loaded in advance, with late additions handled by review.
