What is “Ticket-linked access”?

Ticket-linked access is a rule under which buying a ticket creates a member and grants entry, chat or activity rights limited to holders of particular ticket types.

Also called: ticket-based membership, ticket-gated access

Ticket-linked access in detail

For ticketed occasions the ticket is the identity. Sociana's ticket-linked access means that purchase through the checkout creates the membership, so there is no separate registration step and no list to reconcile. It also means entitlements follow the ticket type: a general pass admits to sessions, a premium pass adds a workshop or dinner, an exhibitor pass opens the stall tools. The same logic works in attendance rules, where an activity can require a ticket type, and in chat, where one-to-one messaging can be limited to ticket holders. Checkout uses Razorpay where applicable, with invoices generated for the buyer. Sociana is not a ticketing marketplace and does not offer consumer discovery; the point is tickets that create membership in the organiser's own app. Plan for imports of tickets sold elsewhere, since external exports can be mapped to ticket types. Check refund and transfer handling with your delivery lead.

How Sociana uses it

Ticket types, prices and access rules are configured in the tickets module. Purchase creates a member; attendance rules and chat rules can require ticket types.

Example

A wedding-industry fraternity meet sold tickets whose purchase created membership and an entry pass.
