Wallet points in detail
If leaderboard points say how well you did, wallet points say what you can buy. Participants earn them in the same ways as ranking points, through activities the organiser chooses, and the balance sits in the app as a wallet. They are spent in the reward store, where each item has a points price, a stock count and a per-person limit, and staff confirm fulfilment by scanning a redemption QR. Spending reduces the wallet balance but leaves leaderboard rank untouched, so a participant who redeems everything on day one is not punished on the ranking. For organisers, the separation simplifies budgeting: the reward store's stock and per-person limits cap cost, while the leaderboard remains a pure measure of participation. Points can also be exported for redemption in an external gift-card system, since Sociana is not a gift-card marketplace and does not handle tax-compliant benefits.
How Sociana uses it
Wallet points are configured in the points and rewards module and spent in the reward store. Export of points allows redemption elsewhere, for example through a client's own gift-card partner.
Example
A booth-rewards programme let employees spend wallet points at a reward counter with staff scanning a QR.
