Breakout session in detail
Breakouts split a conference into rooms by topic, role or level, and they introduce the problems plenaries avoid: which room, how many seats, who is registered for what. In Sociana a breakout is an event inside the occasion, with its own time, room and capacity, shown in the agenda. Where seats are limited, an organiser can require approval or slot booking; the APMI conference let delegates book and pay for meeting-room slots through Razorpay with a per-guest cap. Attendance can be tracked per session using a QR, and session feedback unlocks after each one, giving a speaker-level view. Group scoping makes breakouts visible only to the cohorts they suit, such as partners or senior delegates. The common mistake is running too many tracks for too small a crowd. Check capacity before opening registration, name rooms clearly in the venue map and brief session chairs on how scanning works so attendance data is reliable.
How Sociana uses it
Breakouts are events within an occasion with their own time, room, capacity, QR attendance and feedback, and optional slot booking.
Example
A conference at Jio World Convention Centre let delegates book paid meeting-room slots through Razorpay with a per-guest booking cap.
