What is “Group-scoped content”?

Group-scoped content is any agenda item, notice, post, poll, chat or notification shown only to the groups an organiser selects, so one app serves several audiences.

Also called: audience-targeted content, group-aware content

Group-scoped content in detail

Most event apps show the same thing to everyone and ask organisers to stay disciplined. Sociana flips this: content is scoped to groups by default where it matters. Agenda sessions can be limited to Partners or Employees. Pinned notices and scheduled announcements can be sent to a chosen group at a chosen time. Polls can be group polls, feeds can be group-aware, chat can be limited to a group and leaderboards can show team boards. The effect is practical rather than theoretical: when the hotel changes at 23:40, only the right guests are notified; when the bride's side needs a different pickup instruction from the groom's, nobody sees the other's logistics. Group scoping also protects commercial sensitivity, since scheme announcements for dealers do not have to appear in the employee feed. Getting it right depends on clean group assignment at import, so mapping fields to groups is a setup priority.

How Sociana uses it

Group scoping is applied across agenda, notices, polls, chat, feeds, leaderboards and notifications. It is configured per item or per rule and depends on group assignment from imports or self-join.

Example

A partners meet showed Partners and Employees different agenda items and notices inside the same branded app.

Questions

What can be scoped to a group?

Agenda sessions, pinned notices, announcements, polls, feed posts, chat, leaderboards and notifications, depending on the modules enabled. Polls can be group polls, feeds can be group-aware, chat can be limited to a group and leaderboards can show team boards. Pinned notices and scheduled announcements can be sent to a chosen group at a chosen time.

How do members get into groups?

By import field mapping, organiser assignment or self-join for groups marked open. Clean assignment at setup is what makes scoping reliable. It is configured per item or per rule and depends on group assignment from imports or self-join. Sociana flips this: content is scoped to groups by default where it matters.

Why does scoping reduce errors?

Because a change reaches only the intended audience automatically, nobody has to filter lists or send separate messages under time pressure. Group scoping is applied across agenda, notices, polls, chat, feeds, leaderboards and notifications. Group scoping also protects commercial sensitivity, since scheme announcements for dealers do not have to appear in the employee feed.
