How Lantern Sky plays

Guests

On their phones

Write a one-line wish of up to 80 characters or draw a fish or a bird with a finger, see it light up and rise, then watch the whole flock spell your names or seal into a time capsule.

You

On the host console

Checks each wish before it lights, picks three to five wishes to feature, and starts the flock when the room is ready.

The room

On the big screen

Paper lanterns rising over old-city rooftops at dusk while the sky darkens to night, then the flock gathering into the couple’s initials or the year.

How it ends: The lanterns either drift up into stars or pour into a brass capsule sealed until next year. Lanterns are on the screen only.

The full description from the games team

A stage moment for weddings, offsites, conferences and festival nights. Guests scan a QR, write a wish of up to 80 characters or draw one with a finger, and the host checks each before it lights. Approved wishes become paper lanterns that rise over old-city rooftops at dusk while the sky darkens to night. The host picks three to five wishes to feature, then the whole flock lifts, gathers into the couple’s initials or the year, and either drifts up into stars or pours into a brass capsule sealed until next year. Lanterns on screen only.

Ready-made versions by occasion

Each version comes with its own story, wording and look. Pick one to start a free trial with it already set up.

  • Wedding

Wedding blessings — duaayein rise over the rooftops

Every guest writes a blessing for the couple; the host checks it and it rises as a lantern. One wish from each side is featured, then the sky gathers into the monogram.

On the phones: “Each guest writes a blessing; it rises as a lantern and the sky gathers into the couple’s monogram.”

  • Offsite

Year-end offsite — wishes for next year, sealed in a capsule

Each person sends one wish for next year; the lanterns gather into next year’s number and pour into a brass capsule that opens at the next offsite.

On the phones: “Everyone sends one wish for next year; the lanterns gather into the year and are sealed in a capsule.”

  • Conference

Closing night — one thing I will try

On the last evening every delegate sends the one thing they will take home and try; the lanterns gather into next edition’s year.

On the phones: “Each delegate sends one thing they will try; the lanterns rise together and gather into next year’s number.”

  • Festival

Diwali night — a lantern sky, children’s drawings swim

Families write a wish or let the children draw one; fish, birds and rockets swim among the lanterns, then the whole sky lifts into the mela’s initials.

On the phones: “Families write wishes and children draw fish and birds that swim among the lanterns.”

  • Campus fest

Fest closing — a wish for the next batch

On the last night students send a wish or draw one; the lanterns rise over the rooftops and gather into the fest year.

On the phones: “Students write or draw a wish for the next batch; the lanterns rise and gather into the fest year.”

The story in the demo

Raj & Simran’s sangeet. Simran keeps the wishes in her diary; Pops and Bauji each have a featured blessing; Lajjo writes hers in Hindi.

Raj, Simran, Bauji and the rest are an illustrated sample cast, not real people. At your event the same game carries your own names and photos.

Formats it runs

  • Year-End Wish Capsule. Each person sends one wish for next year; the lanterns pour into a brass capsule, sealed with the date it opens. (Mobile + LED · 10 min)
